Selwyn works as deputy director of the Sustainable Economic Development Department at the Directorate General for International Cooperation of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His directorate is responsible for the private sector development policies of the Dutch Government. These policies involve building physical and financial infrastructures, creating markets access for developing countries to the EU market and vice versa and working on business climate issues. In the position as deputy director, Selwyn is responsible for a large portfolio of public investments and investment funds among which The Dutch Good Growth Fund, MASSIF and the Dutch infrastructure developments funds. On a daily basis Selwyn works with development finance institutions, multilateral institutions and private sector players. Furthermore his department is the guardian authority of the Dutch development bank FMO and the principal for all international programs of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
